Frequently Asked Questions
At what point in my pregnancy should I attend antenatal classes?
Attending a course that finishes around 4 to 6 weeks before your due date would be ideal. This means the information will be recent and it also increases the chance of the group all having babies of similar ages.
Does my registration include my partner or support person?
Absolutely. Your partner, a friend, Whanau member – anyone who is in your support team can attend with you. Due to space we can only fit you and one other in the class though.
Do you provide food?
There will be a supper provided with a coffee, tea and biscuits etc. If you are attending a whole day class, you will need to bring your own lunch or visit a nearby cafe.
What happens if I miss a class?
Classes are normally in person. Our course educator may send out some summary notes and may use the Facebook page for your group with research based information links to follow up on. It is not possible to Zoom or FaceTime into a class. Although if one partner attends , they can FaceTime you into the group via their mobile device, if that works for you.
What are the payment options?
Payment is by bank transfer. We will include bank account details after we receive your registration form online. We will provide receipt of payment if you so ask, within a few days following payment into our account.
What online classes are there?
We do not offer classes online, unless there are situations that require the need for some odd reasons e.g. Covid lock downs, venue problems, the occasional evening where a facilitator is able to do a face to face class, but is able to provide an online class for that day.
Do I need to attend all days of the antenatal course?
We understand that life happens and that some or one of the days of the course might not suit. However, given the condensed nature of the weekend programmes, missing 1 day of the 2 day programme will mean you miss too much information to make it worthwhile. Ideally, you need to commit to attending both days of the programme to learn the basic content needed to confidently go into your Parenting Journey armed with information.
